First yearling sale of the year! A few more might follow. These are all NICE colts and fillies with some of the best breeding you can find. Most are actually by my stallions, and all are out of graded stakes winning or graded stakes producing mares AT THE VERY LEAST. Their prices, though a little higher than my previous breeding stock sales and such, still don't reflect their true value!
Princesa (AUS)
1 ch. f. Fuji Kiseki (JPN) - Ice Princess, by Cobra King
Notes:
This filly really can take off fast from the start.
Has a nice, smooth running gait.
Wow, what a surge of power! This filly has the look of eagles!
We won't know for awhile, but her legs may be good for the whole distance.
Seems about average, consistency-wise.
I'd say this filly would show noticeable improvement at steeplechasing.
A closer. Moves late. Expect some hairy finishes at the track.
Seems to run competitively enough. Can't be sure yet though.
Comments: Princesa, from the excellent grade one winning mare Ice Princess and stallion Fuji Kiseki, has almost entirely too royal breeding. From her notes, she is a great long-distance turf prospect, inheriting her mother's stamina and her sire's propensity for the grass. Her dam was a multiple stakes winner at up to 11 furlongs (with two wins at the distance), bringing home wins in the International Gold Cup Distaff (G1) and Vanity Stakes (G1), among others. Princesa is a half sister to grade one winner Spectral Ice and the first-time-out winner Silver Circlet.
Price: $125,000
Send The Best (AUS)
1 b. c. Another Chapter (GB) - Truly Alone (AUS), by Empire City
Notes:
This colt breaks so fast that the jockey'll get whiplash!
Runs fairly well, from what I've seen.
Nice speed burst when you ask for it! A darn good sign.
Hard to tell, stamina-wise. Seems to be good to a mile, from workouts.
This colt appears to be pretty consistent.
Doesn't show any particular preference either way for fences or flats.
This colt wants to get the lead early, from what I've seen.
Has spunk. May have a competitive edge during real races.
Comments: From first-crop sire Another Chapter and out of the new mare Truly Alone, Send The Best adds some new blood to the scene...sort of. Truly Alone, a half sister to multiple grade one winners Truly Dynamic, Truly Passionate, and Truly Gallant, is a grade one winner herself, and we were very excited to add her to the broodmare band. Another Chapter is a multiple graded stakes winner formerly owned by First Faith Thoroughbreds - the son of Awesome Again was sold to Stonewall Stables before that barn closed. He looks to be a very promising sprinter!
Price: $85,000
Simple Release (AUS)
1 ch. c. To An Extent - She Who Talks Pony (CHI), by Dancing Brave
Notes:
Starts fast at the break. A good sign.
Fine, ground-eating running gait. Should have an advantage here.
Seems to have a decent burst of power when asked, at least in workouts.
Nice colt- has some stamina to spare. Should go the distance for you.
Not the most consistent. Has quite a few off-days.
Train this one for steeplechase immediately! Just loves the hurdles!
A closer. Moves late. Expect some hairy finishes at the track.
Seems to run competitively enough. Can't be sure yet though.
Comments: Simple Release is a very fractious young colt from the second crop of To An Extent and out of the multiple graded stakes winning mare She Who Talks Pony. He needs a little time to mature, and might need to be gelded, but he definitely has some potential as a classic turf runner!
Price: $50,000
Something Like Rain (AUS)
1 dkb/br. c. Fade Like Clouds - Must Be Angels, by Mineshaft
Notes:
Man, can this colt jump fast from the break! A real good sign.
Seems to have decent natural speed.
Wow, what a surge of power! This colt has the look of eagles!
Nice colt- has some stamina to spare. Should go the distance for you.
Seems to run at his best most of the time during workouts.
This colt might show some improvement over jumps.
Likes to get the lead early. A definite sprinter.
This one has real grit. Wants to win. That could make all the difference.
Comments: Something Like Rain is a big, powerful dark colt from first crop sire Fade Like Clouds and out of young champion race mare Must Be Angels. His sire, Fade Like Clouds, was a multiple grade one winner on the track at the classic distances and is a full brother to leading sire Lord Ofthe Thunder. Must Be Angels was herself a multiple grade one winner and Champion Two-Year-Old Filly. Her first colt, Chasing Heaven, also shows a lot of promise.
Price: $250,000
Sweet Nobility (AUS)
1 gr. f. Truly Gallant - The Thunder Rolls (AUS), by Lord Ofthe Thunder
Notes:
Starts fast at the break. A good sign.
Has a nice, smooth running gait.
Nice burst when you ask for it. This one is capable of some real speed.
Nice filly- has some stamina to spare. Should go the distance for you.
Seems to run at her best most of the time during workouts.
Doesn't show any particular preference either way for fences or flats.
This one moves real late. I hope you've got a strong heart.
Has spunk. May have a competitive edge during real races.
Comments: By multiple grade one winning champion Truly Gallant and out of a daughter of Lord Ofthe Thunder, you can't get much better breeding than this! Sweet Nobility is nothing less than royalty - and she knows it. This filly looks like she could go long on either surface and be a big winner. She looks a good bit more precocious than her sire - who only reached his best stride at age five - so might mature quite a bit earlier. An excellent addition to any racing or breeding string!
Price: $200,000
