Two Year Olds
All At Once (GER) 2yr dark bay/brown colt Real Quiet - Flashdance, by Sadler's Wells
Average breaker. No real advantage or disadvantage. Cripes, my underpants could outrun- er, begging your pardon... Wow, what a surge of power! This colt has the look of eagles! Hard to tell, stamina-wise. Seems to be good to a mile, from workouts. Not the most consistent. Has quite a few off-days. You may have a jumper here. Consider steeplechase for this colt. A closer. Moves late. Expect some hairy finishes at the track. Runs alertly with the others during practice. Seems to be a good sign.

All The Lost Souls (GER) 2yr bay filly Birdstone - American Peace, by Peace Rules
This filly breaks so fast that the jockey'll get whiplash! Has about an average running speed. Nice speed burst when you ask for it! A darn good sign. Well, her pace seems good to about 6 furlongs, then some wear shows. Not the most consistent. Has quite a few off-days. This filly might show some improvement over jumps. A closer. Moves late. Expect some hairy finishes at the track. Shows some interest in competition, which is good.

Gets caught napping at the starting line. Good news! This colt runs real sweet and easy. Eats up ground! Seems to have a decent burst of power when asked, at least in workouts. Seems to be able to handle a mile and more. That's good. This colt appears to be pretty consistent. Doesn't show any particular preference either way for fences or flats. A closer. Moves late. Expect some hairy finishes at the track. Shows some interest in competition, which is good.

This filly breaks so fast that the jockey'll get whiplash! Not much natural running speed here, I'm afraid. Lags a bit. Wow, what a surge of power! This filly has the look of eagles! Seems to be able to handle a mile and more. That's good. Not the most consistent. Has quite a few off-days. This filly might show some improvement over jumps. Four Year Olds
Cambria (CAN) 4yr bay filly Singletary - Yearly Report, by General Meeting
Has a brisk starting speed. Should be in the front of the pack. May be somewhat lacking in natural speed. Nice speed burst when you ask for it! A darn good sign. Still strong after a mile and more. Can't be certain, but looks durable. A trainer's dream- always gives their best. Very consistent. You may have a jumper here. Consider steeplechase for this filly. Seems to run like a sprinter, though I'm not completely sure. Runs alertly with the others during practice. Seems to be a good sign.
WORKOUT RESULTS: This is a nice little filly that didn't much like the turf. We gave her a couple of dirt gallops, however. She has a very nice stride, but a low cruising speed, so she has a tendency to drop out of the field. She does have a good burst of power, but doesn't seem very inclined to use it. She also does not appear to like off tracks. Keep her away from fillies like Dreamless Sleep and at longer distances (nine or more furlongs) on the dirt, and she should be fine.

Has a brisk starting speed. Should be in the front of the pack. Well, her running gait seems about right. Wow, what a surge of power! This filly has the look of eagles! WORKOUT RESULTS: This is another nice classic colt, but he has the same problem as "Ren" up there. He can run steadily and gets lazy! Other than that he's a pretty classy animal, all ready to go at nine or ten furlongs.

Light Ofthe Moon (NZ) 4yr dark bay/brown filly Street Cry (IRE) - Beyond Beyond (NZ), by Seattle Slew
Man, what a break! Will leave the rest in her wake at the start. Good news! This filly runs real sweet and easy. Eats up ground! Seems to have a decent burst of power when asked, at least in workouts. Seems to have decent endurance. A trainer's dream- always gives their best. Very consistent. You may have a jumper here. Consider steeplechase for this filly. Seems to run like a sprinter, though I'm not completely sure. This one has real grit. Wants to win. That could make all the difference.
WORKOUT RESULTS: You have a nice turf filly here. She's got a quick break and a good cruising speed, and a top notch burst of power! She appears very consistent and loves the turf, but I would keep her away from yielding courses and distances above nine furlongs. She does have a tendency to lag once she hits the lead, so she might fall victim to powerful closers.

Manzanillo (USA) 4yr dark bay gelding Behrens - Musical, by El Gran Senor
Average breaker. No real advantage or disadvantage. Well, his running gait seems about right. Not much of a burst of power here, from what I've seen. I could be wrong. Seems to hold together at least to a mile. I'm not certain beyond that. Shows good consistency. Should run at his best most of the time. I'd say this gelding would show noticeable improvement at steeplechasing. A closer. Moves late. Expect some hairy finishes at the track. Shows some interest in competition, which is good.
WORKOUT RESULTS: Manzanillo didn't seem too pleased with the turf, nor did he seem pleased with anything. He was very sulky and had no interest in running, thus his slow time. He's got some potential, but may not realize it as a colt

I'd say this colt would show noticeable improvement at steeplechasing. Seems to run steady. No particular style. This one has real grit. Wants to win. That could make all the difference.
WORKOUT RESULTS: This is a nice, long-strided colt that just loves distance. He seems to run steadily and can get lazy on the rider, though, which is probably why he throws clunkers in now and then. Other than that he is a strong colt that would excel at distances of ten or more furlongs on either the dirt or the turf.

To Be Valued (CAN) 4yr black colt Value Plus - Free To Be, by Fly So Free
Breaks slow. I suggest liberal application of fire to his butt! Fine, ground-eating running gait. Should have an advantage here. I haven't noticed any real notable burst of extra speed. Still strong after a mile and more. Can't be certain, but looks durable. Seems to run at his best most of the time during workouts. I'd say this colt would show noticeable improvement at steeplechasing. Seems to run like a sprinter, though I'm not completely sure. Seems competitive enough.
WORKOUT RESULTS: I'd keep this little pretty off of the turf, if I were you. He couldn't strut his stuff until we put another work into him on the dirt. He's a very big, lanky colt that is just coming into his own, and he has a lot of power. This is an extremely tough year for classic horses, but I am certain that he can squeeze his nose in there at least a few times at up to 10 or 11 furlongs.

Truth Endures (CAN) 4yr black gelding Toccet - Slew's Vision, by Unbridled
A real sharp breaker. Will leave a lot of them in the dust at the start. Runs fairly well, from what I've seen. Nice burst when you ask for it. This one is capable of some real speed. Appears to have plenty left after workouts. Looks good to me. Not the most consistent. Has quite a few off-days. I'd say this gelding would show noticeable improvement at steeplechasing. Likes to get the lead early. A definite sprinter. This one has real grit. Wants to win. That could make all the difference.
WORKOUT RESULTS: This little colt isn't much of a runner, if I have to say. He's average from the break and has a very slow cruising speed. You won't get any stakes class performances with him, as his burst of power just isn't up there. He also didn't seem to particularly care for the turf. I'd say this is a good prospect for gelding.

Uncovered (CAN) 4yr black gelding Exploit - Losted, by Pulpit
Man, can this gelding jump fast from the break! A real good sign. Good news! This gelding runs real sweet and easy. Eats up ground! This gelding seems to really move when you ask. Boy, this critter's done running by 5 furlongs and wants a nap. Not good... Seems about average, consistency-wise. This gelding might show some improvement over jumps. A closer. Moves late. Expect some hairy finishes at the track. Runs alertly with the others during practice. Seems to be a good sign.
WORKOUT RESULTS: You have a problem here! This son of a gun is inconsistent and short winded. He can't go very far, and doesn't appear to have the brilliant speed to compete with the top five and six furlong horses. Keep him away from mud, too, and perhaps geld?

This colt breaks so fast that the jockey'll get whiplash! This colt runs pretty much with the pack. Nice speed burst when you ask for it! A darn good sign. Seems to have decent endurance. Shows good consistency. Should run at his best most of the time. This colt might show some improvement over jumps. Seems to run like a sprinter, though I'm not completely sure. Seems competitive enough.
WORKOUT RESULTS: You have a very nice sprinter/miler here, definitely a dirt horse. He can sustain a bid for quite a while, which is good for a sprinter like him that doesn't like dirt kicked in his face. If he gets outbroken, he'll probably tend to give up, but if you get him to the outside, he's a strong closer, too.

Crime Scene (CAN) 5yr dark bay/brown gelding Dynaformer - Revise, by Louis Quatorze
Fairly average speed from the break. Well, his natural speed is good. Should pass others with little effort. Nice burst when you ask for it. This one is capable of some real speed. Hard to tell, stamina-wise. Seems to be good to a mile, from workouts. Seems to run at his best most of the time during workouts. I'd say this gelding would show noticeable improvement at steeplechasing. Seems to run steady. No particular style. Runs alertly with the others during practice. Seems to be a good sign.
WORKOUT RESULTS: Here's a very temperamental horse. He refused to load in the gate, sulked during his workout, and returned in a pretty grouchy mood in general. The son of a gun is certainly not the nicest horse I've ever seen. I think he'd have a lot of potential as a gelding, however, probably nine to ten furlongs on the turf.

Nearly Home (USA) 5yr bay filly Outsider - Gone Home, by Gone West
Average breaker. No real advantage or disadvantage. May be somewhat lacking in natural speed. It's early to be sure, but her power seems a tad underdeveloped. Seems to likes sprints the best. Noticed some tiring towards a mile. Shows good consistency. Should run at her best most of the time. I'd say this filly would show noticeable improvement at steeplechasing. This filly wants to get the lead early, from what I've seen. Shows some interest in competition, which is good.
WORKOUT RESULTS: Nearly Home was very, very unhappy with the decision to run on the turf. I did notice that she gave her all, so she has a lot of guts, but she never seemed to find her footing. She could still be a useful filly, and should also have some nice babies when she retires, but don't expect her to be a world beater.

This gelding really can take off fast from the start. Well, his natural speed is good. Should pass others with little effort. Nice burst when you ask for it. This one is capable of some real speed. Nice gelding- has some stamina to spare. Should go the distance for you. Not the most consistent. Has quite a few off-days. I'd say this gelding would show noticeable improvement at steeplechasing. Seems to run steadily. Might prefer to move late. Shows some interest in competition, which is good.
WORKOUT RESULTS: Photograph is one of those colts that just doesn't seem to care for racing at all. He sulks, bolts, and just plain don't run! He has no consistency whatsoever. This is another prime candidate for gelding.

Average breaker. No real advantage or disadvantage. Doesn't have much natural speed, I fear. Nice burst when you ask for it. This one is capable of some real speed. Seems to have decent endurance. Shows good consistency. Should run at her best most of the time. You'd be making a mistake if you don't train this one for steeplechase. This filly wants to get the lead early, from what I've seen. Runs alertly with the others during practice. Seems to be a good sign.
WORKOUT RESULTS: Spooked isn't a bad filly, but she's not particularly good either. She could be a nice broodmare prospect, but if you keep her in training, I would suggest lower level turf mile events.

Storm The Town (USA) 5yr bay filly Cape Town - Burkina Faso, by Mystery Storm
Breaks real nice from the line. Has a nice, smooth running gait. I haven't noticed any real notable burst of extra speed. Seems to be able to handle a mile and more. That's good. A trainer's dream- always gives their best. Very consistent. I'd say this filly would show noticeable improvement at steeplechasing. Likes to get the lead early. A definite sprinter. Seems to run competitively enough. Can't be sure yet though.
WORKOUT RESULTS: Storm The Town looked to be a very consistent, hard-knocking filly, but in a gallop over an off track, she really had trouble getting her feet under her. Keep her away from the mud. She also seems to like longer distances. She isn't the fastest breaker in the world, a weakness in a horse that prefers to be on the lead. However, she is not a bad horse in the least and should still have some good performances left.

Viceroy (CAN) 5yr grey colt Xaar - Wings Of Approval, by With Approval(CAN)
This colt runs pretty much with the pack. Nice speed burst when you ask for it! A darn good sign. Seems to be able to handle a mile and more. That's good. Seems to run at his best most of the time during workouts. I'd say this colt would show noticeable improvement at steeplechasing. A closer. Moves late. Expect some hairy finishes at the track. Seems competitive enough.
WORKOUT RESULTS: We put this little boy on the dirt, and he did reasonably well, certainly better than some of his stablemates. He doesn't show that all-star class that I've seen in others, but he is a hard-knocking little colt. He seems to like running from off the pace, so needs something up front to run at, and some soft competition that'll come back to him. Keep him around nine furlongs in as many allowances or short field listed stakes as you can find, and you might have some more success.

Six Year Olds
Merciful Fate (CAN) 6yr chestnut colt Cozzene - Go Lil Robin (CAN), by Scatter The Gold
This one explodes from the start like his tail is on fire! Has about average running speed. This colt seems to really move when you ask. Seems to be able to handle a mile and more. That's good. This colt appears to be pretty consistent. You may have a jumper here. Consider steeplechase for this colt. This colt wants to get the lead early, from what I've seen. Seems competitive enough.
WORKOUT RESULTS: Merciful Fate broke like a rocket, but flattened out after that. He appears like he might like muddy courses or possibly the turf better than fast dirt, but he didn't have much closing kick.

Natural Instinct (CAN) 6yr bay gelding Kicken Kris - Sunday Best, by Sunday Silence
Average breaker. No real advantage or disadvantage. Cripes, my underpants could outrun- er, begging your pardon... Nice burst when you ask for it. This one is capable of some real speed. Seems to have decent endurance. Seems to run at his best most of the time during workouts. You may have a jumper here. Consider steeplechase for this colt. This one moves real late. I hope you've got a strong heart. Runs alertly with the others during practice. Seems to be a good sign. WORKOUT RESULTS: Natural Instinct didn't appear to like the dirt much, but he is also well past his prime at age five. Gelding might remedy this and give him another one or two useful years. If you choose to do this and keep racing him, keep him on the turf at around a mile, and you should see improvement.

Outside Wish 6yr black gelding Outsider - Gone Home, by Gone West
This gelding breaks so fast that the jockey'll get whiplash! Runs fairly well, from what I've seen. Wow, what a surge of power! This gelding has the look of eagles! Seems to have decent endurance. Seems about average, consistency-wise. You'd be making a mistake if you don't train this one for steeplechase. Likes to get the lead early. A definite sprinter. Seems to run competitively enough. Can't be sure yet though.
WORKOUT RESULTS: Outside Wish seems to be in the same boat as his counterpart, Outsidethebox. He is talented, especially on the turf, but not world class caliber. He is a sprinter that doesn't like yielding turf, so keep him on firm courses in the lower level stakes. He has another year, maybe two, left to run.

Outsidethebox 6yr bay gelding Outsider - Sunday Hart (NZ), by Chief Bearhart
Average breaker. No real advantage or disadvantage. Well, his running gait seems about right. Nice burst when you ask for it. This one is capable of some real speed. Seems to hold together at least to a mile. I'm not certain beyond that. Seems about average, consistency-wise. Train this one for steeplechase immediately! Just loves the hurdles! A closer. Moves late. Expect some hairy finishes at the track. Has spunk. May have a competitive edge during real races.
WORKOUT RESULTS: This old guy is a hard-knocking son of a gun that appears to have a couple more years left in him. He does have some talent, especially on the turf, and some stamina, but I wouldn't run him against grade one competition, unless the field comes up soft. Keep him around the eight to ten furlong mark in grade threes or twos, and you should have a very, very useful horse here.

Breaks real nice from the line. Good news! This colt runs real sweet and easy. Eats up ground! Wow, what a surge of power! This colt has the look of eagles! We won't know for awhile, but his legs may be good for the whole distance. Seems to run at his best most of the time during workouts. This colt might show some improvement over jumps. This one moves real late. I hope you've got a strong heart. Shows some interest in competition, which is good.
WORKOUT RESULTS: Here's a really nice classic colt. He loves going long, 10 or 11 furlongs I'd say. Keep him away from the mud, though. He is a closer and may need some pace in his races, but all in all, he's a very classy horse.

Looks good to me. Not the most consistent. Has quite a few off-days. Doesn't show any particular preference either way for fences or flats. Seems to run like a sprinter, though I'm not completely sure. This one has real grit. Wants to win. That could make all the difference.
